The site is great for San Francisco and Bay Area tourists and locals. You can easily browse the hikes, and while we would like you to join the site and be part of the community, you are welcome to just show up at the hikes. Joining the site has many benefits like interacting with other hikers and outdoor enthusists, monitoring your hiking statistics, and being able to RSVP for the hikes.
One of the interesting features of our site are hiking carpools. Driving to the hikes by carpooling helps save the environment and is a more environmentally friendly way to travel to the hikes. Carpooling is also more fun as the car ride goes by faster if you are engaged in an interesting conversations. Try out our carpool management and reservation feature and let us know what you think!
As the site has grown, we have made many new friends on the trails and online. We list many of our friends and partners in our outdoor resources list and also some here like the treadmills and exercise equipment folks at Gymsource. For some cool hiking gear and supplies, you may be interested in taking a look at our suggestions on which equipment is appropriate for different terrain, weather and hike difficulty you may encounter on your travels.
